Caffeine in the Monster Drink Industry

I found a nice little database that helped me do a little research on the amounts of caffeine found in energy drinks. The range was from 400mg to 0mg.

The highest on the list was Fixx Extreme at 400mg and there were several at the lowest being 0mg. One of them at 0mg was Efusjon’s Raw. Rockstar was 150mg and Monster Energy Drink was 160mg.

For reference drip coffee has about 145mg of caffeine in it and decaf has about 2.5mg. I do not drink coffee and have very limited caffeine in my diet. So a full cup of coffee will really get me going and heaven forbid I consume a Fixx Extreme as it would probably wire me to death. A lot of people experience side effects above 200mg, which include sleeplessness, heart palpitations, headaches, nausea, and most commonly the jitters. I try to stay well below that amount.

This is why I have chosen Efusjon’s Raw or Edge from the monster drink industry. Again the Raw does not have any caffeine and Edge only has 60mg. And for a person like me that needs an all natural energy drink made with organic acai berries and little or no caffeine to choose from, it’s a dream come true. They have included all of the good and not of the bad or controversial ingredients like taurine, guarana, ginseng, glucuronolactone, and creatine.

Some studies believe that caffeine causes the body to lose calcium, and prolonged use of caffeine can lead to loss of bone density. This is especially detrimental to the many people who already do not consume enough calcium. Also, those on medications should be particularly aware of their caffeine intake, as serious health conditions, including many heart conditions can react with medication and harm the individual.

I just comes down to doing what’s right. Take in as much good and limit the bad. So if you are going to choose an energy drink from the Monster drink industry, do your research and pick out the healthiest one you can find. You will thank yourself for it later on in life. If you feel you need 400mg of caffeine at one sitting to get you through the day then you might want to go seek some professional help or you will soon be seeing you doctor with other medical issues.
